MEDICINE HAT, AB – For Shaun Clouston, the opening series of playoffs will provide an opportunity for his team’s defence to be tested against some of the top snipers in the entire WHL.

As the Tigers get set to open Game 1 on Saturday night against the Edmonton Oil Kings, they’ll face some of the Eastern Conference’s best pure scorers in Trey Fix-Wolansky and Vince Loschiavo.

Clouston said he has confidence in his goaltending tandem of Mads Sogaard and Jordan Hollett, with Sogaard getting the start Saturday for Medicine Hat.

Rookie Cole Sillinger could also be a factor early in the series, following his call-up from the midget AAA ranks in Saskatchewan this week.

According to the Tigers bench boss, Sillinger likely will see similar minutes to his third line role that he played on March 9 against the Brandon Wheat Kings.

CHAT Sports caught up with Clouston about his expectations heading into the series and who he’ll be leaning on to drive the bus in Game 1 up in Edmonton.
