Local garage seeing boost in repairs as potholes develop

Redcliff, AB — It’s pothole season, which means plenty of holes in our road and plenty of people driving through them.

For some, running into a deep pothole can mean having to take a vehicle into a garage to get repaired.

This year, just like years past, Little Buddha’s Garage in Redcliff has seen a boost in cars coming in for repairs.

“Usually this time now that the frost is coming out, we’re starting to see a lot more front end work,” said Randy Doble, Owner of Little Budhha’s garage.

Doble is also a mechanic at the garage, and does all sorts of front end work to vehicles that run through potholes.

“Shocks, steering-components that break and bend, so then stuff has to be replaced and we have to perform a wheel-alignment after,” said Doble.

Doble says that spring is sometimes the busiest time of the year in his repair shop, as a high volume of vehicles are dropped off after running into a pothole.

“It definitely helps us out,” said Doble.

To avoid having to take your vehicle into a garage like Doble’s, he says to keep your eye on the road.

“Do your due diligence, pay attention to the roads, slow down for the potholes and avoid the potholes as much as you possibly can and safe driving-habits,” said Doble.
