OTTAWA, ONT. — The recent grounding of the Boeing’s 737 Max Series has forced airlines to scramble and swap in other aircraft to get passengers to its destinations.

Flights involved Boeing’s 737 Max Series were grounded in multiple countries following the deadly Ethiopian Airlines crash on Sunday.

WestJet has a total of 11 flights cancelled on Thursday, which affected approximately 1,200 passengers. Many of the passengers were rebooked on flights that left on Thursday, but some will have to wait until Friday or Saturday.

The airline has 13 of the planes in its fleet.

WestJet passengers who have concerns can call 1-888-937-8538.

Air Canada, which has 24 of the planes as part of their fleet, says they’re preparing to have those planes out of operation for at least three weeks.

They have set up a dedicated phone line at 1-888-247-2262 for affected passengers who were scheduled to fly in the next 72 hours.
