Jevne, Kemp to return vs. Hitmen

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Two of the Medicine Hat Tigers top goal scorers are returning to the lineup just in time for the stretch drive towards the post-season.

Alternate captain Ryan Jevne and forward Brett Kemp are back from lower and upper body injuries, and will dress in Wednesday’s clash against the Calgary Hitmen.

Jevne, playing his final season in the WHL, was hurt in the Tigers most recent game against Calgary on Feb. 16 and missed total of five games. The Edmonton-product sits second on the team with 55 points — 26 of which goals.

Kemp, acquired at the WHL trade deadline in early January, hasn’t played since Feb. 22 against Lethbridge. He’s right behind Jevne in scoring with 49 points this season.

Medicine Hat is coming off an overtime victory over the Swift Current Broncos last Saturday which snapped a season-high seven-game losing streak. They sit in the Eastern Conference’s first wild-card position, a single point clear of Red Deer and Brandon. All three teams have six games to go, and one is sure to be the odd one out for a playoff spot.
