MEDICINE HAT, AB — A Medicine Hat man has pleaded guilty in connection to a robbery at a restaurant in October.

Kristopher Hansen, 35, pleaded guilty to one count of robbery in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on Thursday, according to Court Check.

He was sentenced to one year in jail, but with credit for time served, will serve 195 days. Hansen also received a 12 year firearm prohibition.

Hansen was arrested last October, along with Michael Mingo and Jayson Arndt, following a robbery at the Spice Hut restaurant by two men on October 5. A release from police at the time of the arrest alleges Hansen was the driver of the vehicle used in the robbery.

Mingo and Arndt are facing multiple charges, including robbery and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence in connection with the incident. Their charges remain before the court.

Mingo is due back in court on February 22, while Arndt will go to trial on his charges on April 10.
