VIDEO: International Day of Persons with Disabilities celebrated in Medicine Hat

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Students at Crestwood School had an opportunity to notice the ability present in everyone Tuesday afternoon.

The school celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, with individuals and organizations coming in to share their stories and experiences with the students.

During the afternoon, students were able to take part in several activities, including learning sign language and Braille, and how to operate a wheelchair. Students also were able to learn wheelchair basketball.

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities has been recognized by the United Nations since 1992.
