Pro wrestling legend Bret Hart says he’d be happy to rally the Stampeders
Never mind the Nature Boy. The Hitman would be up for rousing the football troops too.
After Ric (Nature Boy) Flair did his part to wind up the Tiger-Cats and their fans last Sunday in the CFL East Division semifinal at Hamilton, another pro wrestling legend — Bret (Hitman) Hart — said he’d be keen to rally the Stampeders’ faithful on Sunday in his hometown of Calgary.
In an email, a Stampeders spokesman said that contact was made with Hart’s representative last week but nothing had been confirmed. Hart, who returned home from an overseas trip on Monday night, said on Tuesday that he’d be interested.
“I’m open to whatever they want me to do,” Hart told The Canadian Press from Calgary. “I think they want me to give the players a little pep talk before they go out, which would be fine with me. I’d love to do that.”
