Anonymous donor contributes to Kidsport

MEDICINE HAT, AB — An anonymous donor has contributed $15,000 to the community foundation, in order to create an endowment that supports the Kidsport local chapter.

The community foundation recently introduced the new endowment system, saying it allows them to make a difference for generations.

The money that’s donated is never spent, instead it’s invested professionally, and every year the investment income that’s generated is donated to Kidsport.

In addition, Kidsport isn’t the only foundation with an endowment fund, they also support areas like social issues, animal protection and the environment.

However, the community foundation says Kidsport is a very worth cause to support.

“Kidsport an awesome charity, they do such great work,” says Chris Christie, executive director for CFSEA. “They’re totally run by volunteers and they really make a difference as we know how organized sports can impact a kids life in such a positive way.”

The anonymous donor plans to contribute another $15,000 next year as well.
