Hatters ready to Conquer the Ridge

MEDICINE HAT, AB — It began as an idea three years ago.

Since then, it’s grown into one of the largest half-marathon runs throughout all of southeastern Alberta.

Nearly 200 people are signed, hopeful to ‘Conquer the Ridge’ on Saturday. Widely known as one of the most scenic jaunts in the area, Conquer the Ridge begins at the Echo Dale Regional Park, winding its way up the coulee and around the Gas City Campground before swinging back down to Echo Dale.

Runner have their pick of three distances; the half-marathon, 10km and 5km. 

CHAT Sports caught up with race director Chris Humphries to hear more about the run, the variety of runners it routinely attracts, and the friendly culture surrounding the local running community.
