Medicine Hat woman among three charged following Cardston traffic stop

CARDSTON, AB — A Medicine Hat woman is among three facing several charges following a traffic stop near Cardston over the weekend.

According to a release from the RCMP, officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 2 and Highway 5 on October 6th.

During the stop, officers seized a sawed-off shotgun, a replica handgun, drugs, and drug paraphernalia, along with property that was allegedly stolen.

Stephanie Rouzes, 34, of Medicine Hat, was arrested along with Megan Laube, 28, Kendall Pyne, 38, both from Lethbridge .

The charges include  possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm, three counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of stolen property and multiple charges of failing to comply with a court order.

The three women have been released from custody after a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear in Cardston Provincial Court on November 5.
