MEDICINE HAT, AB – It may just be the pre-season, but the Medicine Hat College Rattlers women’s basketball team was in mid-season form against the SAIT Trojans on Friday evening.

Playing in their final exhibition test before the regular season, the Rattlers controlled play against the Trojans to cruise to a 69-39 victory at the ‘Snake Pit.

This year’s Rattlers roster will be led by lone senior Kendell Kuntz, alongside fourth year players Morgan Muir and Kristen Skjonsby.

They’ll look to make up the loss of graduating Rattlers Kennedy Werre and Courtney Henry, who helped Medicine Hat to their first appearance at CCAA Nationals for the first time in a decade.

Just three true freshmen will suit up for Medicine Hat this season in Rhiannon Ware, Tatiana Dutka and Amer Karamanos, though it will be the first year in Rattlers colours for Hayley LePard and Kiana Mintz.

Finishing their pre-season with a 4-1 record, the Rattlers will open their 2018-19 season at home on Friday night against the St. Mary’s University Lightning at 6:00 pm.

As for the men’s basketball team, Medicine Hat will face the Lightning following the women’s game at 8:00 pm.
