MONTREAL — A quicksketch of Quebec solidaire co-spokesperson Manon Masse, who is her team’s choice for premier should the fourth-placed party in the legislature win Monday’s provincial election:

Age: 55

Born: Windsor, Que., on May 22, 1963

Job before politics: Community organizer and co-ordinator at women’s centre.

Education: Majored in theology at Universite de Montreal.

Professional career: Co-ordinator at the Centre des femmes de Laval in 2014 and, before that, general co-ordinator at the Federation des femmes du Quebec.

Political career: First elected to government in 2014 by a margin of 91 votes, Masse had run in three previous general elections for Quebec solidaire.

Current riding: Sainte-Marie–Saint-Jacques, which comprises part of downtown Montreal.
