Mohawks shutout Lacombe, Colts edge Pincher Creek in exhibition action

LACOMBE, AB – A dominant start to the exhibition season for the Medicine Hat High Mohawks football team on Saturday.

The Mohawks, playing in their first pre-season game of the year, used both the ground and air to attack the Lacombe Rams en-route to a 44-0 victory.

Medicine Hat scored 23 points in the first quarter alone, highlighted by a punt return touchdown from Elic Ayomanor and eventually led 30-0 at halftime.

Zack Campbell and Piercen Meier added touchdowns in the second half, helping the Mohawks to a 44-0 win and a 1-0 record in the pre-season.

As for the Monsignor McCoy Colts, they were also victorious out west as they took home a 15-13 victory over the Pincher Creek Mustangs.

The Colts and Mohawks will tangle in an all-Medicine Hat battle on Friday night, opening regular season action at the Methanex Bowl at 7:30 pm.
