Mad Hatter & Happy Hatter – July 30

Mad Hatter
If you don’t want to maintain your lawn, then get rid of it and replace it with a dry alternative.  If you have a yard, then control the weeds so others home don’t have to deal with the invasion in theirs.  You shovel after it snows or hire a company to do it for you.  Don’t use excuses because you bought it or rented it, it is your responsibility.   If you don’t want to, there are alternatives places you can live.

Happy Hatter
happy this province has never had so much representation with this current party. Numerous ministers have been in our fine city. No thanks to our Mayor & his witty tongue earlier. Thanks, NDP/Wanner for bringing them. You should be proud.

Interesting that the people with unwatered, brown, weedy lawns in the summer are often the same ones with unshovelled sidewalks all winter. Can’t use the ‘we live in a desert’ or ‘cost of watering’ excuse when there is a six-inch build-up of ice.

People complaining about lawns – I understand not being happy about weeds! That makes complete sense. Weeds are gross, out of control and also cheaply manageable… I really do understand the complaints about weeds. But, under no condition will I spend so much of my hard earned money on water to keep my lawn green. Last year I spent an extra $60 a month during the summer for a slightly green lawn. That might not be a lot to you, but it is a lot to me. Don’t like it? Move somewhere with rich people who are also super pretentious about their lawns.

Just confirmed that the Medicine Hat Stampede board refuses to allow ordained ministers complimentary gate access.   It’s incredible now to imagine that the clergy is not recognized as a non-profit organization in which people turn to in times of need and sorrow. I’m quite positive the police…fire and Press have open access…shame on the entire executive board for not allowing clergy to pass through like other essential services!!

Happy Hatter
So happy to see Premier Notley in the Hat this week flipping pancakes, visiting local businesses, and announcing new rural transportation for SE Alta!

Mad Hatter
Old man near Safeway – I’m not turning left when there is a steady stream of traffic coming straight, so don’t honk at me. Get your eyes checked, you dumb geriatric.

Happy Hatter
I wanted to give a shout out to the staff of the new 7-11 on Strachan Road. Each and every one is consistently friendly and helpful. Early morning or late night they are cheery and welcoming. I really enjoy going there as it’s consistently a positive experience. Thanks to each of you for spreading sunshine.

Curious why opposition has concern now about equalization payments in Alberta when he was 2nd in command behind Harper? Never finished a degree. Quit to be a liberal. Lived in Ont./SK.

Mad Hatter
At the person who called out their daycare publically on this forum: maybe take the time to speak with the director in-person like the rest of us did and you’ll understand why the fees went up as much as they did. I don’t love the increase either but talking to her helped me understand the whole story and how other centers will likely increase again, too. The standard of care is incomparable as well if you do your research!
