Mavericks double up Bombers to win 32nd game of season
BROOKS, AB – A late charge Saturday against the Brooks Bombers has secured another two points in the standings for the Medicine Hat Mavericks.
Medicine Hat took advantage of some shaky Bombers pitching on the mound to double up Brooks 10-5 to take the first two games of their weekend series.
After Brooks held a 3-2 lead after the fourth inning, Medicine Hat’s offence woke up in the fifth with runs from Carson Johnson and Nolan Rattai.
The Mavericks really broke the game open in the seventh, extending their 4-3 lead to a four-run advantage as Sal Rodriguez and Jordan Dray came through with RBIs before a wild pitch brought Rodriguez around to score.
