Ross invited to National Baseball team selection camp

MEDICINE HAT, AB — A local baseball player has the opportunity to play for a national women’s team.

Kaitlyn Ross, a member of the Medicine Hat Knights, was in Montreal last week, competing with Team Alberta at the Canadian Women’s Baseball Championship. Alberta finished in third place at the tournament.

According to Baseball Canada, 26 players have been selected from the tournament to compete for 20 spots on the Canadian National Women’s baseball team. The team will compete at the Women’s Baseball World Cup, which will be held in Viera, Florida from August 22-31.

Ross, who calls Redcliff home, was a graduate from the Medicine Hat Little League program.
