MEDICINE HAT, AB — Medicine Hat Police are looking for help from the public regarding the death of a 38-year-old man on Sunday.

According to a news release, investigators are looking to determine if the victim’s injuries may have been a result of one or more altercations he was allegedly involved in on Thursday at approximately 2 a.m. in the area of the Cecil Hotel.

The man sought treatment for injuries on June 22 and returned for additional treatment on June 23. He was later transported to a Calgary hospital, where he died on Sunday.

“I’m not privy to the exact injuries that took place, but serious enough that they could have contributed to, or caused the death and again that’s where investigation is trying to determine if it was that altercation that caused that injury,” said Inspector Joe West.

Anyone with information which could assist with the investigation is asked to call police at 403-529-8481 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
