MEDICINE HAT, AB — Two members of the Medicine Hat Tigers who could be drafted by NHL teams next week were recently invited to an NHL club.

Ryan Chyzowski and Joel Craven both attended a fitness testing camp hosted by the Toronto Maple Leafs. The camp, although not publicly advertised, is an opportunity for players not invited to the NHL Scouting Combine to be introduced to the team.

“It was pretty exciting getting invited to the camp as it was my first little taste of the NHL and all the other kids that I would be up against,” Chyzowski was quoted saying in an article on the Tigers’ website.

“When invited to the camp it felt great to be a player they are interested in,” Craven said.

The camp allowed the players to meet coaches and staff with the organization, while having their fitness evaluated through testing both on and off the ice.

Chyzowski is ranked 95th among North American skaters in the 2018 Draft Prospect Rankings. Craven and 14 other members of the Medicine hat tigers are eligible to be selected at this year’s draft, which runs from June 22-23 in Dallas.
