Monarchs winless in Montana over weekend

KALISPELL, MT — The Medicine Hat Moose Monarchs went 0-3 in Montana over the weekend.

The Monarchs player three games against the Kalispell Lakers Saturday and Sunday. They were defeated 3-2 on Saturday, and lost both games on Sunday by scores of 8-0 and 13-3.

According to Gamechanger, the Lakers defeated the Monarchs following a walk-off single in the seventh inning.

Ethan Boutkan led the Monarchs with two hits during Saturday’s game. Ashtyn Street was credited with the loss. He allowed three hits and one run, while striking out one batter, in one and two-thirds innings.

During the first game on Sunday, Boutkan had the lone hit for the Monarchs.

In the second game, Jack Suhai had two RBI, while Tory Nelson had one.

The Monarchs return to action on Wednesday, hosting the Lethbridge Elks at Jefferies Park.
