Knights dominant in Havre on weekend

HAVRE, MT– The Medicine Hat Knights went undefeated at the Havre Jamboree over the weekend.

The Knights were among eight teams that took part in the round robin tournament held Saturday and Sunday in Montana, winning all four of their games.

On Saturday, the Knights downed Malta 22-0 in three innings. A total of 19 runs were scored in the second inning.

Cole Rath finished the game with 3 RBI, while Heydon Harrison allowed only one hit in three innings and struck out five batters.

In the second game, they topped the Glasgow Reds 13-8. Harrison had a strong showing at the plate, driving in four batters. Jaden Schwindt earned the win on the mound, allowing eight runs, eight hits and striking out one batter.

On Sunday, the Knights shut out the Great Falls Outlaws 10-0 and allowed only one run in a 16-1 victory over the Havre Comets.

During the game against Great Falls, Ayden Matycio was credited with the win on the mound. He allowed only one hit over four innings and struck out five batters.

Against Havre, the Knights dominated in the third inning, scoring 12 runs to put the game out of reach. Connor Drever led the way with four RBI, while Josh Stark and Carter Krauss each recorded 2 RBI.

Winning pitcher Reese Whelen allowed one run on four hits, and struck out four batters.

The Knights return to action on Wednesday, taking on the Lethbridge Miners in a doubleheader at Spitz Stadium. The game begins at 6 p.m.
