MEDICINE HAT, AB — Hockey fans will have a chance to see the future of the Medicine Hat Tigers in action this weekend.

The team is hosting the annual Orientation Camp from Friday to Sunday at the Family Leisure Centre. The event gives the coaching staff a chance to evaluate the prospects, while allowing the players to get a glimpse into how a WHL team operates.

All of the club’s 2002 and 2003 born drafted and listed players have been invited to the camp, including Cole Sillinger, selected 11th overall in this year’s Bantam Draft.

The players will be divided into two teams and compete for the Orientation Camp Trophy during a scrimmage on Sunday. Last year, Team Black was victorious over Team White.

The camp begins Friday with goalie on-ice testing at 6 p.m. and on-ice testing for players begins at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, goalies will take to the ice for their session at 2:45 p.m., with other players following at 3:45 p.m.

Sunday’s scrimmage takes place at 9:45 a.m.

All on-ice sessions are open to the public and are free to attend.
