OLDS, AB – A slow start out of the gates doomed the Medicine Hat Sun Devils on Saturday, seeing a two-game win streak come to an end against the Olds Stingers.

After a scoreless opening 13 minutes against Olds, Medicine Hat allowed four goals over a seven minute span to find themselves down 4-1 after 20 minutes.

The Sun Devils pulled the game to within a single goal with markers from Izaak Loran, Austin Appell, and Zack Wilson, but the Stingers closed out the period with a trio of goals to lead 8-4 heading to the third.

Any chance of a comeback was erased with back-to-back goals early in the third from Olds, guiding the home side to an 11-6 win over the Sun Devils.

Wilson netted a hat-trick and five points to take over the team goal-scoring leading in the loss, while Loran, Appell, and Tegan Rogal also found the back of the net.

The loss drops Medicine Hat back to a losing record at 4-5 on the season, however they do remain in second place behind the High River Heat.

A tall task lies ahead for the Sun Devils though, with a date against the division-leading Heat set for 1:30 pm on Sunday in High River.
