MEDICINE HAT, AB — The city’s Parks and Recreation Department is once again planning to operate two community gardens in Medicine Hat.

The gardens, a partnership with the Medicine Hat and District Food Bank, were first planted last year. Two flower beds, located at the Strathcona Centre and in front of the Parks and Recreation Building on Kipling Street, were converted to help grow healthy food alternatives.

Planting at the gardens is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on May 16. Those interested in volunteering are asked to contact the Food Bank at 403-528-4313.
