MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat AA Midget Hounds returned to the win column last weekend, charging their way to a pair of decisive victories.

The Can-Pak Environmental squad opened the weekend slate with a 5-3 win over the Foothills Bisons in Claresolm on Friday. A trip back home on Saturday was capped off with another 5-3 victory, this time over the Red Deer Can Pro.

Brett Gray paved the way with back-to-back two-goal performances, while Ethan Boutkan and Dax Wandler both collected four helpers over the two games.

Friday’s win saw the Hounds throw 41 shots on net, while Aidan Kruger needed just 16 saves for the victory. Dawsen Savage took over the crease on Saturday, skating away with 28 saves in a game which saw the Hounds out-shoot Red Deer 38-31.

Medicine Hat remains fourth place in the South Conference of the South Central Alberta Hockey League, three points back of the Taber Golden Suns in third.

Down to 10 games remaining on the regular season, the AA Hounds will hunt down their third straight win this upcoming Saturday, hosting the NWCAA Bruins out of Calgary at the Kinplex (4:45 p.m.).
