Midget AA Hounds win first two games of 2018

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Can Pak Environmental Hounds got 2018 started on the right foot this weekend, winning their first two games of the season this weekend.

The Hounds defeated the Taber Golden Suns 4-1 to kick off the second half of the season on Saturday, and down the Okotoks Oilers 9-3 on Sunday to win both home games.

Brett Gray had a goal and an assist, while Jacob Milne, Dawson Hittel and Zachary Dovichak each scored singles through the game. Aiden Gleisner had two assists.

Dawsen Savage made 42 saves in the Hounds’ win on Saturday.

During Sunday’s Game, Dax Wandler had a hat trick and one assist, Carson Becker had two goals and two assists and Brandon Kasdorf scored one goal and notched two assists.

Gleisner, Brayden Anderson and Brandon Hauck scored the remaining goals for the Hounds. Milne had three assists, while Grey notched two through the game.

Aidan Kruger was in net for Sunday’s win, and made 17 saves.

The Hounds are back in action this weekend for a pair of home games. The team hosts the Wheatland Chiefs at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, and host the Olds Grizzlys on Sunday at 2 p.m. Both games are at the Kinplex.
