Calgary baby may have been alive when abandoned

CALGARY, AB. – Police say a dead infant girl that was found in a Calgary parking lot on Christmas Eve may have been alive when she was abandoned.
Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta says the cause of death is undetermined but no trauma was detected.
Schiavetta says evidence at the scene suggests the child’s mother may be in medical distress.
Police have been canvassing area residents looking for information and attempting to obtain surveillance footage from local businesses.
