Ottawa Redblacks, Saskatchewan Roughriders pay respects on Remembrance Day
OTTAWA — Rick Campbell left his Ottawa Redblacks with a final message Saturday.
Following the CFL team’s walkthrough at TD Place, Campbell gathered his players and coaches at centre field. There, the Redblacks’ chaplin talked about the significance of Saturday, which was Remembrance Day.
Then at 11 a.m. ET, everyone recognized a moment of silence. The Riders did the same at their walkthrough, tweeting a video of their coaches and and players standing with heads lowered with the message, ‘We remember & honour, all those who have and continue to sacrifice their lives for our country.’
Campbell, an American, said it was important for the organization to pay their respects to military personnel on both sides of the border.
