City to temporarily close paths in Southridge for power pole installation

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Several pathways in Southridge will be closed as a result of transmission line upgrades this fall.
The city announcing in a news release the next phase f the Transmission Line Upgrade Project will require work between Southridge Drive and 13th Avenue SE. Intermittent closures of the pathways will occur, with temporary fencing being set up when lines are being attached to the new power poles. The pathways will re-open once each section is completed.
Crews are currently preparing sites for construction and installing matting to protect the greenscape. The preparation work is expected to be finished by October 15, while the construction and installation will take place in the last two weeks of November.
Residents are reminded to obey posted signs while work is underway.
