MEDICINE HAT, AB — The city will close a section of trail near Dunmore Road for several days starting Tuesday for a pipeline inspection.

The City of Medicine Hat’s gas distribution department will inspect a 100 mm pipeline attached to Shannon Bridge near Saratoga Park Trail. The contractor will conduct the inspection via scaffolding, and will assess the pipeline’s integrity and ensure it is safe to continue delivering natural gas to customers.

The city is closing a portion of the trail between South Railway Street at Carry Drive and Dunmore Road. The area inspected is at the bottom of Dunmore Road and Kingsway Avenue. The inspection is expected to last approximately 3-4 days, depending on weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Residents can expect to see temporary traffic controls and detours at several points during the work. Drivers are reminded to obey all construction signage to ensure the work can be completed in a timely manner.
