MEDICINE HAT, AB – The clean up continues at two southeast homes following a number of crashes Saturday night, resulting in significant damage.

Just after 10:00 pm on Saturday, Medicine Hat Police were called to the 200 block of Ross Glen Road Southeast in response to a motor vehicle collision.

According to police, a man driving a 2013 Ford Explorer jumped the road, crashing through a small brick fence, and colliding with a home.

S/Sgt. Darcy Fox said the driver then continued his path of construction across the street on Rideau Place.

“When the vehicle was attempting to leave this scene, it backed up and left the scene, striking a newer Dodge truck causing damage to it,” said Fox. “It then went across the road again, struck another house, causing severe damage.”

No one was injured in either of the houses, while the driver of the Explorer was taken to Medicine Hat Hospital with minor injuries.

Police were able to arrest the male driver at the scene, and said charges are pending.

Fox said they’ve taken a look a both scenes, and believe the damage to be quite high.

“We’ve estimated the damage, at a total of both houses and the vehicles involved, at about $100,000.”

Police could not confirm if drugs or alcohol were factors in the collisions, and said the investigation into the crashes remains ongoing.
