Oakes enters guilty pleas in Swift Current court

SWIFT CURRENT, SASK. — Connie Oakes has entered guilty pleas in relation to an alleged stabbing outside of Maple Creek on earlier this month.

Oakes pleaded guilty in a Swift Current court on Thursday. She was arrested on April 5 along with Ricky Rockthunder in connection with an alleged stabbing near Maple Creek. Oakes and Rockthunder were both charged with aggravated assault, uttering threats and forcible confinement

Oakes remains in custody and will have a sentencing hearing on June 7.

Rockthunder had his bail application denied, and makes his next court appearance on May 10.
