INTERVIEW: Linden Cup Charity Classic returns Saturday
MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Linden Cup Christmas Classic is returning this weekend, for what could be the final time.
The annual event, now in its fifth year, returns Saturday at the Family Leisure Centre, with the goal of raising money for the Medicine Hat and District Food Bank. Last year, the event raised $21,000.
The event features a free family skate from 11:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., with the Linden Cup charity hockey game beginning at 5:15 p.m. There will also be a bucket draw during the event.
Keith Gronning, the man who spearheaded the event, says he is planning to step back from the event after this year, and is looking for someone to take over the main organization of the event going forward.
