A 48-year-old Brooks man is facing several charges after RCMP say he repeatedly rammed another vehicle in a back alley and threatened its occupants.

Brooks RCMP received a 911 call at about 10:55 p.m. on Saturday reporting that a Dodge Ram truck had followed the caller’s vehicle home and repeatedly struck it in a parking area in the 1000 block of Cassils Road West.

Police say the suspect also threatened the caller and tried to get into the vehicle, including by breaking a window.

Officers intercepted the truck in the 500 block of Cassils Road West and arrested the driver without incident.

RCMP say the investigation found the suspect and caller were known to each other. The blue Chrysler 300 that was struck had three occupants, including a baby.

The car sustained moderate damage, while the truck had minor damage, according to police.

Bol Deng Gai of Brooks has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, uttering threats, mischief, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and intimidation.

Police said the man was initially remanded into custody before being released on conditions.

He was scheduled to appear in Brooks Court on Nov. 4 to answer the charges.
