Province reports crews and rain contribute to successful wildfire season
The Government of Alberta reports that the work done by its wildfire preparedness program and firefighting crews led to a successful wildfire season.
In addition, significant rainfall across the province also contributed to a less active season.
However, even though it’s the end of the season, that does not mean wildfire work stops.
The province says they remain prepared year-round to build its response capacity, and work to reduce wildfire risk in communities and across landscapes through the Alberta Wildfire Mitigation Strategy.
