A 36-year-old Medicine Hat man has been charged following a break-in at a downtown business.

The Medicine Hat Police Service says officers received a report at about 8:53 a.m. on Oct. 24 of a break-and-enter at a business in the 400 block of Third Street Southeast.

Investigators determined the business had been entered in the early morning hours, with several items stolen.

Police reviewed surveillance footage from the business and surrounding area and canvassed the neighbourhood, leading them to a suspect.

Daniel Fettig was arrested on Oct. 27 and charged with break and enter to commit theft.

He was held for a judicial interim release hearing and subsequently released.

Fettig is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Medicine Hat on Nov. 4.
