Twinned Highway 3 section expected to ease congestion on busy farm corridor
The newly twinned section of Highway 3 between Taber and Burdett is now open to traffic, with crews completing final work before the project wraps up.
Gordon Reynolds, mayor of Bow Island and president of the Highway 3 Twinning Development Association, said the new four-lane stretch is expected to improve safety and traffic flow along a busy transportation corridor.
Reynolds travelled between Bow Island and Taber on Monday to see the progress firsthand.
He said most of the new highway is open, although some speed restrictions remain while crews finish line painting and other work.
