Upcoming MHC Open House gives prospective students a chance to explore programs

Visitors are able to explore classrooms, labs, shops and other learning spaces while speaking directly with instructors and current students about programs and the college experience.

Attendees can also learn about admissions, financial support, student life and potential career pathways.

Grace McCue, a student recruiter at MHC, says Open House gives prospective students an opportunity to ask questions, make connections and get a better sense of what studying at the college could look like.

“Many students arrive at Open House with questions, not answers,” McCue said in a release.

“Whether someone knows exactly what they want to study or is still exploring their options, this is a great chance to meet instructors, connect with current students and discover what feels like the right fit for them.”

McCue says the event also allows visitors to begin building relationships that can continue throughout their time at the college.

“Open House allows people to start building connections that can stay with them throughout their MHC journey,” she said.

“It helps future students feel more confident and gives them a chance to experience the college firsthand.”

This year’s Medicine Hat event will also feature a new STEM Discovery Zone presented by CF Industries.

The zone will offer interactive, hands-on activities for visitors to explore.

Those unable to attend either event can learn more about the college’s programs, student experiences and future opportunities through its 2027-28 Viewbook.
