Southeast Alberta Chamber partners with Canadian Chamber offering TradeCert export services

Aaron Fleming, president of the Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce, said in a release that international trade remains an important part of the region’s economy.

“International trade continues to play an important role in the economic success of Southeast Alberta,” Fleming said.

He says the new service will make it easier for businesses to access the documentation needed to reach customers outside Canada.

“By partnering with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and offering TradeCert Canada services, we are making it easier for local businesses to access the documentation they need to reach customers beyond our borders,” Fleming said in a statement.

Businesses looking to use the service must first register for TradeCert Canada.

The registration process requires a Letter of Waiver, proof of business registration and documentation showing the origin of the goods being exported.

Once a business is approved, it can access the online platform and submit certification requests electronically.

The chamber says moving the process online will allow exporters to complete documentation from their own offices, rather than relying on in-person appointments.

Fleming said the convenience could be particularly valuable for small and medium-sized businesses where staff time and administrative efficiency can have a significant impact.

In a statement, Fleming said, “We know that time and efficiency matter, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses.”

“TradeCert Canada provides a modern, secure solution that allows companies to complete essential export documentation quickly and conveniently.”

The Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce says the partnership is part of its broader efforts to provide programs, resources and advocacy aimed at improving the competitiveness of local businesses.

The chamber says it hopes access to TradeCert Canada will help reduce some of the administrative barriers businesses face when entering or expanding into international markets.
