Southeast Alberta receives provincial funding to strengthen agri-food sector

The Alberta government is investing in Southeast Alberta’s agri-food sector through a regional initiative to attract investment, support producers and advance agricultural innovation.

The County of Forty Mile is receiving a Northern and Regional Economic Development grant for the $156,600 project, which was identified through the Southeast Alberta Economic Opportunity Strategy released in 2025.

The initiative brings together the City of Medicine Hat, Town of Redcliff, County of Forty Mile, Town of Bow Island and Village of Foremost, along with industry and institutional partners.

The project will create shared tools and resources designed to make the region more investment-ready and help municipalities and producers navigate development and regulatory requirements.
