🐅 Medicine Hat Tigers Training Camp

FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY

The Medicine Hat Tigers training camp began on Thursday and continues this weekend as they prepare for the 2026-27 WHL season.

Players will be split into four teams for a round-robin tournament running through Saturday at Co-op Place, with camp wrapping up Sunday with an intrasquad game.

All games are open to the public.

Friday features four games, beginning with Team Black versus Team Blue at 9 a.m. and Team Grey versus Team Orange at 11 a.m. The evening games see Team Grey face Team Blue at 5 p.m., followed by Team Black against Team Orange at 7 p.m.

The tournament continues Saturday with the third-place and fourth-place game at 10 a.m., followed by the championship matchup at 2 p.m.

Sunday’s intrasquad game takes place from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The Tigers begin preseason action Sept. 1 in Lethbridge against the Hurricanes, before hosting their first preseason home game at Co-op Place on Sept. 5.

🚌 Sunshine Trolley: Guided City Tour

FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY

The Sunshine Trolley will offer guided tours of Medicine Hat from Friday through Sunday, giving visitors a chance to learn more about the city’s history and landmarks.

Tours run at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. each day, departing from the Medicine Hat Visitor Information Centre on Gehring Road S.W.

Friday’s tour will be guided by Sally Sehn, Saturday by Barry Finkelman and Sunday by Trevor West.

The tours highlight landmarks including Medalta in the Historic Clay District and the Ewart-Duggan House.

Guides also share the history behind Medicine Hat’s neighbourhoods and streets.

Children 12 and under ride for free.

The Sunshine Trolley has designated seating available for passengers with mobility needs and is wheelchair accessible.

🎪 Water Circus Nautilus

FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY and MONDAY

The circus is in Medicine Hat this weekend in the Medicine Hat Mall Parking Lot.

The travelling circus Cirque Italia brings its Aquatic Spectacular to the city.

Water Circus Nautilus features a custom-designed water stage beneath the big top holding 35,000 gallons of water.

Performers from around the world will take to the stage for a variety of acts, including aerial performances, hand balancing and contortion.

Organizers describe the show as a vivid and dramatic experience combining circus arts with a modern production.

The water stage travels with the show as it moves from city to city, making it a central part of the performance.

There will be seven shows over four days.

Friday’s show is at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday’s are at 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.

On Sunday, the showings are at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Then on Monday, there is a show at 7:30 p.m.

🎬 Movies at the Monarch Theatre

FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY

The Monarch Theatre is screening three films this weekend, including Grease, Practical Magic and The Parent Trap, marking its first full weekend of movies since renovations were completed.

On Friday, Grease will screen at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Practical Magic will be shown at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

The weekend wraps up Sunday with a 3 p.m. screening of The Parent Trap, with doors opening at 2 p.m.

Tickets are available for $5 cash only and can be purchased at the door.

📽 Movie Night in the REDI Parking Lot

FRIDAY

A free outdoor movie night is planned for Friday at the Regional Economic Development Institute on Allowance Avenue in Medicine Hat.

The Princess Bride will be shown at dusk in the parking lot at 860 Allowance Ave. Attendees can arrive as early as 8 p.m. to choose a spot.

Free popcorn and soft drinks will be available while supplies last.

People are encouraged to bring family and friends, along with folding chairs.

🛻 Monster Madness at the Speedway

SATURDAY

The Monster Madness and FMX World Tour will make a stop at Medicine Hat Speedway on Saturday, with two shows featuring monster trucks and motocross stunts.

The event will feature 10,000-pound monster trucks competing in racing, wheelies and freestyle events, along with FMX riders performing stunts and tricks, including backflips.

The first show starts at 12:30 p.m., followed by an evening show at 6:30 p.m.

Fans can also attend a pit party before each show to meet drivers and FMX performers, get photos and autographs, and see the monster trucks up close.

The VIP pit party runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon for the afternoon show and 4:30 to 6 p.m. for the evening show, while general admission pit parties run from 11 a.m. to noon and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Tickets are currently $32 for adults, $20 for children and $48 for VIP admission, with prices increasing by $5 on the day of the show, and are available for purchase on ticketpro.ca.

Children aged two and under can attend free when sitting on an adult’s lap.
