The organization says donations made through individual race teams help keep food on the shelves and allow the pantry to respond to people experiencing difficult circumstances.

People who aren’t participating in the race can still follow the event through a live broadcast on Facebook and YouTube.

The Root Cellar produced a video on its YouTube channel showcasing the 20 teams.

MY96 morning host Hudson will again join The Root Cellar executive director Melissa Mullis as hosts of the live coverage, following teams throughout the day and highlighting the challenges and fundraising efforts.

Viewers will also be able to call in during the broadcast to donate to their favourite team and contribute to the fundraising leaderboard.

The event will also feature an Amazing Race for Hunger 50/50 draw, with half of the jackpot going to the winning ticket holder and the other half supporting The Root Cellar.
