The Medicine Hat Tigers continue to work in win-now mode as the club has acquired 20-year-old forward, and local to Medicine Hat, Josh Evaschesen from the Kamloops Blazers.

The former Blazer put up 33 goals and 73 points over 67 games last season in his only year in the WHL.

Evaschesen was rewarded for his standout rookie campaign by being invited to the Dallas Stars’ development camp.

The Tigers will send a 2027 1st-round pick, a 2027 4th-round pick, and a 2029 6th-round pick to the Blazers in the deal.

More moves have to be on the horizon for the Orange and Black, who currently sit a week and a half away from training camp with five 20-year-olds on their roster, two more than the league limit.

The Tigers begin the 2026 WHL pre-season on Tuesday, September 1st, on the road against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
