Goudreau family continues to seek answers as homicide investigation reaches 50 years
Alberta RCMP Historical Homicide Unit is asking the public for information as they continue to investigate a homicide case that happened 50 years ago.
It was on Aug. 2, 1976, when Marie Goudreau was on her way home to Beaumont after she dropped a friend off at the Edmonton International Airport. Police say she also visited friends in Edmonton.
However, Mounties say just after midnight her blue Plymouth Cricket car was found abandoned on a rural road south of Edmonton.
The engine was still running, headlights were on, and Goudreau’s belongings were still inside.
