Medicine Hat College is hosting fifth annual Stampede Breakfast with parade plans announced

Medicine Hat College is inviting the community to celebrate the start of Stampede week with its fifth annual Community Stampede Breakfast, while parade organizers released details for this year’s Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede parade.

The free breakfast will take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on July 20 at the college’s main entrance.

The event will feature live music, a Kids FunZone and face painting, giving families, alumni and community members a chance to gather ahead of the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede, which runs July 22 to 25.

Meanwhile, the Stampede parade is set to return to downtown Medicine Hat beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 23.

Organizers say the CF Stampede Parade will feature 11 form-up areas for participants, including cowboys and cowgirls, western riding and ranch class, comic entries, commercial floats, organizations, community floats, Ag and community youth groups, antique cars, trucks and tractors, non-competitive entries, canine friends and decorated golf carts.

The Stampede parade is considered one of the major highlights of the annual event, which brings together community groups, businesses and residents to celebrate the start of the summer tradition.

Parade participants can register online through the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede website.
