Two rescued from Elkwater Lake taken to hospital in stable condition on Saturday

Two people were taken to hospital after being rescued from Elkwater Lake at Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park on Saturday morning.

Emergency Health Services says units from Medicine Hat were called to the area at about 10:40 a.m. on July 4, for reports of two patients who had required rescue from the water.

Paramedics arrived to find one adult and one youth on shore after both had been pulled from the lake by a third party.

Both patients were assessed at the scene and transported by ground ambulance to Medicine Hat Regional Hospital in stable condition for further evaluation.
