Discounted rates to visit Alberta museums and sites this summer

Alberta’s participation in the Canada Strong Pass will allow Albertans to visit a great number of museums and sites in the province this summer at a discounted rate.

General admission to these sites will be free for children 17 and under, and half-price for those aged 18-24. There is no limit on visits.

“We’re pleased to take part in the Canada Strong Pass again this year, welcoming more families and young people to the Royal Alberta Museum with free or discounted admission and opportunities to explore Alberta’s rich and diverse stories,” says Meaghan Patterson, executive director at the Royal Alberta Museum.

The 15 sites offering Canada Strong Pass promotion are:

  • Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village, Lamont County
  • Royal Alberta Museum, Edmonton 
  • Royal Tyrrell Museum, Drumheller 
  • Reynolds Museum, Wetaskiwin
  • Remington Carriage Museum, Cardston
  • Oil Sands Discovery Centre, Fort McMurray
  • Lougheed House, Calgary
  • Rutherford House, Edmonton
  • Stephansson House, Red Deer County
  • Frank Slide Interpretive Centre, Crowsnest Pass
  • Fort George and Buckingham House, County of St. Paul
  • Historic Dunvegan, near Fairview
  • Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, Fort MacLeod
  • Victoria Settlement, County of Smoky Lake
  • Turner Valley Gas Plant, Diamond Valley

Additionally:

  • The following provincial sites are always free: Provincial Archives of Alberta, Okotoks Erratic, Leitch Collieries, Brooks Aqueduct and Father Lacombe Chapel.
  • The Canada Strong Pass is also applicable in Alberta for free admission at Jasper National Park, Elk Island National Park, Banff National Park, Waterton Lakes National Park, Banff Park Museum National Historic Site, Banff Bar U Ranch National Historic Site, Cave and Basin National Historic Site and Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site.

Discounts at these sites are applicable from June 19 to Sept. 7.
