City of Medicine Hat launches survey ahead of Alcohol in Parks pilot project
The City of Medicine Hat is seeking public feedback ahead of the launch of its Alcohol in Parks pilot program, which will allow alcohol consumption at designated picnic tables in three city parks this summer.
The program, approved by the City council in May, will run from July 2 to Sept. 30 at Kin Coulee Park, Echo Dale Regional Park and Strathcona Island Park.
A preliminary survey is now open until July 1 as part of the City’s first phase of public engagement.
Officials say the goal is to gauge resident sentiment on park use, community concerns and overall support for the pilot.
