Before the draft, the Yorkton Terriers auto-protected SAHA U15 Prep forward Mason Bryksa. SJHL teams were able to protect up to two players from the regional territory ahead of the draft.

Bryksa, 15, from Yorkton, played in 31 games with the U15 Prep team during their inaugural season in 2025-26. He had 39 points with 14 goals and 25 assists, to go with 24 penalty minutes.

Bryksa recently signed to play with the Estevan Bruins U18 AAA team for the 2026-27 season.

He is the first player to be selected from the U15 Prep team in any draft format, as there were surprisingly no players from the team selected in last month’s Western Hockey League Prospects draft.

SAHA U18 Prep defenseman Sully Kufflick has signed with the Alberta Junior Hockey League‘s Canmore Eagles for the 2026-27 season.

Kufflick, 17, played two seasons with SAHA, and is already familiar with the Eagles. He skated in two AJHL games with the team during the 2025-26 season.

As a member of the U18 Prep team, the defenseman played in 43 total games and had 23 points with six goals and 17 assists, and 38 penalty minutes.

In 2024-25, he played for the U17 Prep team and was affiliated with the U18 Prep team for two games.
