Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta breaks ground on two new Medicine Hat affordable homes
The Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta broke ground on Wednesday for two new affordable homes in Medicine Hat, marking the organization’s first of 12 local builds since 2020 in what officials say is part of a continued effort to expand access to stable housing across the region.
Volunteers, sponsors, community partners and future homeowners gathered at the site for a ceremonial groundbreaking ahead of the homes’ construction.
The project is being delivered in partnership with local builder Mulder Builders, which will act as general contractor for the build.
Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta is a non-profit organization that works with volunteers, community partners and families in need to build and provide affordable homeownership opportunities across the region, helping create long-term housing stability.
