Brooks Bandits face Bucks in Cranbrook with chance to move on to BCHL Finals on Friday

May 8, 2026 | 1:53 PM

The Brooks Bandits’ quest to repeat as the Fred Page Cup winners and BCHL league champs is getting closer to becoming a reality.

Going into Friday’s contest with the Bucks in Cranbrook, the Bandits are one win away from moving onto the league finals with a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

After winning the first two games in Brooks to start the series, the Bandits dropped game three in Cranbrook 4-1 on Tuesday, before bouncing back with a 4-3 overtime win on Wednesday.

Bandits forward Dmitrijs Dilevka scored the overtime winner just two minutes and 13 seconds into the extra frame.

Puck drop on game five at Western Financial Place is at 7 p.m.

A Bandits loss would bring the series back to Centennial Regional Arena, and give the reigning Fred Cup Champions two more chances on home ice to move on. If needed, those games would take place on Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The winner of the Interior Conference Finals will meet the Nanaimo Clippers in the BCHL Finals. The Clippers swept the Coastal Conference Finals in four straight games over the Prince George Spruce Kings.

Home ice advantage in the finals would go to the Bandits, who had 80 points in 54 games, compared to the Clippers’ 66 points in 54 games.
